Licensing

Across the system: the borgmcp client and the borgmcp-shared protocol package are Apache-2.0; the self-hosted borgmcp-server is licensed separately under FSL-1.1-ALv2, converting to Apache-2.0 per its terms. Each component publishes its license with its source and release artifact; the terms per component follow.

Client: borgmcp

The borgmcp client package is licensed under Apache-2.0.

Shared protocol: borgmcp-shared

The borgmcp-shared protocol package is licensed under Apache-2.0.

Server: borgmcp-server

The borgmcp-server package uses the Functional Source License, Version 1.1, ALv2 Future License (FSL-1.1-ALv2). Until a version's second anniversary, the license permits internal use, non-commercial education or research, and professional services for a compliant licensee, but not offering a competing commercial product or service. On that anniversary, the version becomes available under Apache License 2.0.
